What is Registrum?

Registrum is Australian accounting and job-management software for small businesses, sole traders and tradespeople. It brings invoicing, GST and BAS preparation, payroll, jobs and scheduling, inventory, bank feeds and financial reporting into a single cloud app you can run from a phone, tablet or desktop. It is made by Registrum Pty Ltd (ABN 29 372 825 751), an Australian company, and it is available at registrum.com.au.

A note on the name. “Registrum” is also a Latin word meaning register, familiar from medieval manuscripts such as the Registrum Brevium and the Registrum Gregorii. We chose it because a good set of books is exactly that — a register of everything a business earns and owes. If you arrived here looking for the historical texts, this page is about the Australian software company of the same name.

What does Registrum do?

Registrum handles the money side of running a small Australian business, end to end.

Invoicing, quotes and payments

Create compliant Australian tax invoices, send them by email or Telegram, and take card payments online. Payments reconcile against the invoice automatically.

GST and BAS preparation

GST is calculated on every transaction and rolled into a Business Activity Statement worksheet (G1–G15, 1A, 1B, W1, W2) that you or your tax agent lodge with the ATO.

Payroll, super and leave

Pay runs with PAYG withholding, superannuation, leave accruals and ATO-format payslips. Registrum prepares Single Touch Payroll Phase 2 data for lodgement.

Jobs and field service

A seven-stage job board, scheduling, GPS clock-in, timesheets and job costing — built for tradespeople who quote on site and invoice from the ute.

Bank feeds and reconciliation

Connect Australian bank accounts through Basiq, an ACCC-accredited CDR data recipient, and code transactions straight to accounts.

Inventory, CRM and reporting

Multi-location stock, a deals pipeline with follow-ups, and more than twenty financial statements including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.

Who uses Registrum?

Sole traders and freelancers who just need to invoice and track GST; tradespeople and field-service teams who quote on site, clock on to jobs and invoice when the work is done; retailers and hospitality venues tracking stock and daily takings; and the accountants and bookkeepers who advise them, through read-only or full-edit advisor access.

Why it is built for Australia

  • GST is calculated at 10% and can be handled tax-inclusive, the way most Australian businesses quote.
  • BAS worksheets cover G1–G15, 1A, 1B, W1 and W2, ready for you or your agent to lodge.
  • Payroll uses current PAYG withholding brackets and the current super guarantee rate.
  • ABNs are validated to 11 digits and BSBs to 6, with ABN lookup built into contact creation.
  • Documents over $82.50 carry the words “TAX INVOICE”, as the ATO requires.
  • Records are retained in line with Australian five-year record-keeping expectations.
